Mini Nubian milk tastes so good! Its sweet and doesn't have a goatie taste. Mini Nubians produce on average between a 1/2 gallon to over 1 gallon per day. Its also great for making cheese and goat milk soap

Goat Care

Feeding
We feed all our goat’s free choice alfalfa hay mixed with grass. In the summer the goats are out on pasture. Milking does and growing kids (up to 6 months) get a custom sweet feed grain mixture, with added alfalfa pellets, sunflower seeds, and beet pulp. Our dry yearlings and bucks just get the custom sweet feed in small amounts depending on their body condition. All our goats have free choice Wicks Hi-Copper Goat Mineral and Sea kelp. We also feed Dumor Sheep mineral.

Water- goats should have access to clean, fresh water always.

Veterinary Care-
All our goats are disbudded 5-10 days after birth. I use a 20 x 1 gauge needle to give vaccinations. The dosage for CDT is 2cc for adults or kids. It’s not uncommon for an abscess to develop at a CDT injection site. Therefore, the armpit (region behind the base of the front legs) is often the preferred site for CDT vaccinations

We offer our goats weekly an herbal dewormer (DWA)by Fir Meadow. Dosing is on bag. https://www.firmeadowllc.com/store/c4/Herb_Mixes_%26_Supplies.html
We also will use GI soother, if they have loose stool from stress or diet changes.

We do FAMACHA scoring on all our goats at least monthly and run a fecal to determine when and what type of dewormer is needed. Since feeding the herbal dewormers very little extra de worming has been needed in our herd.

We trim goat hooves at least 4 times per year or as needed.
